Our culture says

Those are some tired old stories. They conflict with science and devalue the Earth.
So we're reinventing our story.

How Do We Live On Earth Without the Stupid?
There's plenty of planetary stupid going on. Too much consumption, too much oil, stress, and extinction. Way too much stupid to fix with just electric cars or better politics (although those would help).
Here's the fix: We need to change our story. An old bible-based story still powers our culture like frayed old wiring. It can't handle our modern scientific wattage. No wonder there's that weird burning smell.
We need a story that works with science, respects how the planet lives, and offers the mythic meaning humans need. Lucky for us, we have a start (Thanks, science.) That scientific story says we're all connected, made of the same stuff. And we're part of an incredible, ongoing evolution.
What is this story? Does it show us better ways to live? Can it stop the stupid? That's what we talk about on The Big Chew Podcast. Whether we're talking big changes in spirituality, big ideas in science, or tiny creatures who build our soil and grow our food, we'll connect some righteous dots. There's a new Big Chew every other week. So grab a bite, and let's masticate!

This small book traces one woman's path from old story to new, and the Universe's path from the Big Bang to life on Earth.
"…a marvelous book…I stopped several times to read passages out loud and found myself continuing, just to hear the language, which is often punctuated with smart, funny observations." R. Eberhart
"…powerfully moving. Its lyrical yet scientifically grounded description of Earth's origins is alone worth far more than the price of admission…" T.E. Pettys
